Well, the homepage says "Justin B. Evans is a Washington D.C. based artist. His work contains a wide variety of styles including Illustration, comics, web design, wood sculpture, sprites, and photography. He is currently focusing on short story comics via BWISH Studios, his original website which serves now as a vehicle for collaborative projects".
What else is there to say about me? Well, I'm currently married and live in Maryland and try to make pretty things in my spare time. I graduated from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2006 and majored in Fine Art. My senior thesis is one of the most popular things around here as it involved sprites and rides the coattails of nostalgia. I work full time as web designer of all things at Blue Water Media. I'm pretty much self taught in terms of web design and computers in general and have been doing such things since about 1997. While I'm much more proficient in the design aspect (HTML and CSS) I am quickly learning more programming skills including PHP, javascript, and actionscript.
My favorite artists include Alphonse Mucha, Charlie Nozawa, Akira Toriyama, Drew Struzan, and Natalia Pierandrei. I'm a child of the 80s so I like my video games. My favorite games include Suikoden II, Final Fantasy VII & Tactics, the Metal Gear series, the Suprer Mario Bros. series, and the Legend of Zelda series. I also love football. Go 'skins!
What do I hope to accompolish with my art? Well, basically I want to make pretty things people can enjoy. I'm not so much concerned with making radical social statements with silly concepts as I am with telling an original story. Comics and film are where my heart lies. Unfortunately film has taken a backseat since about 2005 when basically everyone I knew in the area up and left me, leaving me with no immediate access to a crew! What jerks. That's why comics are awesome.
